Women’s Stuff Event

A message from Janet Michelmore AO – Jean Hailes Executive Director and Louise Browne – Project Manager, Jean Hailes Translation, Education & Communication

Thank you for helping make our Women’s Stuff event in Wodonga on Friday 3 July such a huge success!

We were privileged to share the evening with more than 250 women and health professionals at The Cube.

  • We particularly loved talking to many of you before the seminar over a sandwich or during the break.

The success of this event confirms for us the strong demand for health information from women in rural and regional Australia. Women came from right across the surrounding region with some driving from Wangaratta, Yackandandah, Tallangatta, Beechworth, Mulwala and Oaklands.
The audience all had a go at laughter therapy.
  • We received great feedback about the event and most women reported that their knowledge and understanding of the topics had improved a little or a lot and they felt confident to put what they’d learnt into practice. We also received lots of topic ideas for future health seminars. Jean Hailes relies on Government funding to reach and share information with women across Australia, helping them take action to improve their health.

  • If you enjoyed Women’s Stuff and think that other women in rural, regional and remote Australia would benefit from the work of Jean Hailes and organisations like the Women’s Centre for Health & Wellbeing Albury-Wodonga, please consider writing to the Federal Health Minister Sussan Ley (contact details below) to let her know why this event was important to you. Once again, thank you for supporting Jean Hailes and we hope that you will be part of Women’s Health Week from 7 to 11 September 2015. Find out more at: womenshealthweek.com.au
