Yesterday Women's Health NSW has launched The It Left No Marks online learning hub. This is a place where you can learn more about strangulation, sometimes called choking. While this can be a tough topic to talk about, if you have experienced strangulation or if you are someone who participates in sexual choking, you will find some important information on here by clicking on the ‘Women’ tab: www.itleftnomarks.com.au/ #womenshealthnsw #womenscentrealburywodongaWomen's Health NSW is proud to launch the It Left No Marks online learning hub. This was created as part of a project called “Local pathways for victim survivors of sexual assault related non-fatal strangulation and acquired brain injury” (the Pathways Project). The Pathways Project was established when Women’s Health NSW identified a need to support and strengthen professional understanding and local capacity to respond to sexual assault-related non-fatal strangulation and acquired brain injury. The Pathways Project is one of 14 projects in the NSW Sexual Violence Project Fund administered by the NSW Department of Communities and Justice. This learning hub will be useful to women who have experienced non-fatal strangulation or sexual choking, as well as service providers, including healthcare service providers, who support women. www.itleftnomarks.com.au/ ... This is such a good cause, Share the Dignity, we also have Dignity bags here at the Women's Centre for Health and Wellbeing Albury Wodonga, and are very grateful to the Share the Dignity team in ou r local area for supplying them to us. Let's see how much of a difference they are making by taking the Bloody Big Survey TAKE 2 !#womenscentrealburywodonga #sharethedignityYes! Yes! Yes! What else do you think we need to normalise? We are excited to be undertaking our Bloody Big Survey TAKE 2 and we really want to know if the shame and stigma that has clouded periods for such a long time has started to lift. In our 2021 survey, we learnt that almost 1 in 5 people would ALWAYS hide anything that shows they’re having their period period... And that 41% of respondents were too embarrassed to speak about their period. Without your help completing this survey we will never know if we are winning the war to normalise a bodily function. Why does it matter? Because it is SO much bigger than just period shame. 🩸 Research has shown it stops people from seeking healthcare for period pain🩸 Not having conversations about periods can cause people to not know when to seek medical help 🩸 And a lack of conversation can cause people to live in period poverty We need your support to fill in our Bloody Big Survey so we can see how far the shame and stigma has come in three years. Take part here: www.sharethedignity.org.au/end-period-poverty/bloody-big-survey-2024 ... See MoreSee Less
